After a break due to COVID in 2020, the Roma Turf Club is happy to announce that its Winter Racing Carnival is back on board for 2021 with three meetings and a total prize pool of $190,000 . The Carnival will kick off on the 26th of June with its 6 race program for Rugby Race Day. Rugby Union, and Rugby League are part of the winter experience for most of the region, and each will feature in the three race days of this year’s Carnival. The rugby kick-off is immediately after the final race on 26 June and will involve a battle between the Roma Echidnas and the Condamine Cods.
Another highlight of the day is with Sheehan Events organizing for the first time, an Alliance aircraft to bring a number of city people to the Roma Rugby Races to enjoy our country hospitality and entertainment.
On the 10th of July the Roma State College will be hosting a 5 race program with a prize pool of $50,000.
The final Carnival meet will involve the Roma Cities Rugby League Football Club hosting a race day on July 24 and will include a game playing against the Western Ringers from Charleville. This match will mark the 50th year premiership reunion of the Cities Club.
Roma Turf Club will follow up The Carnival with a race day on 21st August hosted by St John’s School with prize money of $43,800.
